Sunday June 21st, the first day of the summer and a perfect day to make a trip. I rode to Duisburg, a city in Germany, some 100 km south-east of my hometown.

I joined the ride-out from MC Bandidos called the 'Fat Mexican City Run'. The Bandidos spend money for every biker that participated in favor of an organisation that fights against child porn.

Their club house wears the unmistakable Bandidos colours: gold and red.

Good weather and good atmosphere attracted a lot of bikers: Bandidos, support clubs and 99%ers, like me.

  Colourful types.

There were about six special bikers present from the MC Polizei ;-)
They kept an eye on the situation and cleared the roads during the ride-out.

At 2 o'clock the trip started. More than 180 bikes joined in.

No wonder this was a noisy happening.

We rode through the centre of Duisburg and the shopping precinct and never stopped, no matter what state the traffic lights were in. All the crossroads were blocked by police bikes and prospects.

The way a lot of bikers rode was quite unorthodox: I'm not used to bikes overtaking on my right...

The average speed was about 35 km/h so the air-cooled CBX did not like that very much. But: no pain, no gain.

The day after I found two videos of the City Run on YouTube. In this one I'm joining in after 36 seconds

In this second video at 1 minute 9, returning at 2 minutes 52.

As we gathered at the club house after the ride-out, I had another chat, another drink and another demonstration of the CBX. Although I was in Harley-heaven there was a lot of positive interest in the CBX.

A colourful and well-spent day!
