The editor of the German CBX newsletter 'Der 6Zylinder', Oliver Tregl, asked me to write something for their magazine. It came out June 2000.

June 4th 2000 was the first time I revealed the CBX INOX 'to the masses' on one of the most important motorcycle events of the year: the KicXstart Streetfightershow 2000.

On Saterday August 12th 2000 I visited the KicXstart editorial office in Delft for a feature in November's edition. From twelve to six pm, Lammert Steinfelder did a photo session on the beach of Scheveningen while Ben Kennepohl did a long interview.

The November 2000 issue of the Dutch CBX newsletter 'De zespitter' ('The sixcylinder'), reported on the 'Eurotreffen' in Almelo, NL. They showed my motorcycle on a page along with Gordon Gooch's CBX-sidecar from Scotland, and a detailed image of the Streetfighter of the Year: 'Sixuality' from Jack Bol.

There was a lot of media attention for the Bulldog Bash; no wonder as it is one of the main motorcycle meetings in England.

The Dutch bikermag 'Big Twin' reports of Street Or Track in their February 2003 issue; again commendable for a magazine with a total different target group. They're not so familiar with Japanese bikes though: "The fully stainless 'CBR INOX' (!) self-built streetfighter from Otto Nijs stole the show. Every part of this bike was selfmade, except the GSX-R 1100 engine (!) and the wheels." Well, I'll invite them soon ;-)

Germany's leading streetfighter magazine 'Fighters Magazin' dedicated no less than five pages to my bike in their February 2003 issue. The pictures were made at FighteRama 2002, the text is written by editor-in-chief Mick Hüby.

March 2003 the Spanish motorcycle magazine 'Biker Zone' featured my bike. It appears to be a mixture of recent features in German magazines 'Fighters Magazin' and 'Bikers Live': the title ('Atari Inox Riot') and one picture from Fighters Magazin, the rest of the pictures were made by Sabine Welte (Bikers Live). The text is written by Alex Tornasol.

The English magazine 'BSH' announces the Bulldog Bash in their May 2003 issue. The reader is stimulated to take part in this year's Custom Show. Two CBX INOX related pictures join the article.

The Spanish newspaper 'El Correo' reports about the Fantasy Show Bike on the 7th of July 2003. Although my Spanish is poor, I understand that one Oto Nijs (!) has an ultramodern aluminum (!!) custom bike worth more than 90.000 Euro (!!!).

October 2003 the company 'Orlaco' asked me for an interview in their publicity magazine 'Infocus'. As they were a great help realising the camera system, I agreed.

Soon after our conversation I received the official agreement; in October they sent me the show's official CD-Rom.
On this CD-Rom my bike is classed under 'Unique motorcycles'.

June 2006 I met Floris Velthuis, an out-and-out ratbike builder, at the Dutch Hardly Rideables ratbike meeting. Read my report here.

11th - 15th October 2006: the Intermot at Cologne (Germany). The bike show called 'Cologne Custom Competition Cup' was organised by Sabine Welte. German radio station 'Radio NRW' interviewed Sabine; amongst other bikes she explained the CBX to the listeners. My name isn't mentioned but I'm called 'a Dutch professor in 3D'. I can live with that ;-)

Journalist Sabine Welte united her favorite featured extreme bikes in a book called ... Extreme Bikes. It's a must-have for everyone who's interested in heavily modified bikes.

www.oliepeil.nl ('oil level.nl') is a Dutch site about bikes and, as they say themselves, 'not up to the mark': a nice mix of useful and useless links, movies, information and sheer crap. Editor 5valve tipped me he'd write a few lines on the CBX. It's about wintry salty roads and stainless steel, escorted with three enlargeable pictures.

On the Internet I found my CBX at www.mt668.net/dingzhigaizhuangche/news/20070201112854.htm. Ain't got a clue if 'dingzhigaizhuangche' is Chinese, Japanese or Korean but that's even more fun. A nice trip to an unknown end of the world ;-)

Hans Peeters, journalist from the daily De Gelderlander, asked me for an issue on my bike-building activities. Just one day later, the 30th of September, he visited me accompanied by photographer Do Visser. The next day, October 1st 2008, the article was published in the newspaper.

Corine Konings, editor from RVS Aktueel – the independent newspaper for the Dutch stainless steel industry – wrote an article on the CBX. It was published March 2009.
Peter Aansorgh, freelance journalist, called me for an article on the CBX. He visited me December 2008 and took pictures of the bike after the interview. Peter demonstrated that, even days before Christmas, good pictures can be taken if you're skilled (and the weather co-operates a little). The result was published in MotoPort Magazine, March 2009.

Finally the Spanish motorcycle magazine Solo Moto spent five pages on Peter Aansorgh's story in May 2009. This version has a lot of detailed pictures.

I was wrong: the article journalist Peter Aansorgh wrote did not end its worldtour in Spain (after visiting the Netherlands and Finland). It traveled further than any article before: down under. TwoWheels is Australias well-known motorcycle mag and dedicated three pages on the CBX.

November 2009 Motorrad News showed a small report with a big picture. The fact that 'sechs' (six) and 'sex' sounds very similar in German language led to the term 'sechssuchtig' (sex-addicted).

Also in November 2009 a report was published in Motorradfahrer. In this magazine the joke was inevitable too: 'Gruppen-Sechs'.

Chopperstyle.nl forum member called Bugeater found an article on the Hotrod Hayride. It was printed in the February 2010 issue of the English biker mag Back Street Heroes.
Although the style of the CBX has no fifties rockabilly characteristics at all, a picture was placed at the top. Funny.
Journalist Peter Aansorgh spread the word again. This time the Swedish bike magazin Allt om MC placed his article on the CBX in February 2011.
